Reservoir Operating Plan
- Treaty Storage Regulation (TSR)
A study performed at least twice a month that is used to determine the Canadian Treaty Storage draft points. The regulation
is based upon plant loads, thermal and hydro-independent resources, critical rule curves, non-power requirements and other
operating data from the AOP for the current operating year.
- Actual Energy Regulation (AER)
Study conducted by the Northwest Power Pool least twice a month to determine an energy summary for each project. The results
of this study are used to guide short-term operations and serve as a basis for rights and obligations.
- Assured Operating Plan (AOP)
An operating plan developed six years in advance so that the downstream power benefits attributed to Canadian Treaty Storage
can be determined. The plan is derived from the latest project data curves, and is used to estimate: future changes in system
load, duration of the critical period, flood control criteria, and
other pertinent project data.
- Detailed Operating Plan (DOP)
A yearly operating plan which is developed from the Assured Operating Plan and other changes agreed to by the U.S. and Canadian
Entity. The DOP is used to develop criteria for use in actual operation and is the basis for weekly flow requests from Canadian
Treaty Projects.
