Expanded Home Page - Technical Management Team

[Home | Help | Comment ]

This page provides an "expanded view" of the home page, to provide new users with a way to find out what is available (and where) without actually traversing every link. It can also be used as a subsitute for the main TMT home page by those experienced users who prefer a more comprehensive view of the TMT page to the multi-level approach used on the standard TMT home page.

Buttons:

This button links to a general help page for the TMT website. It includes:

  • TMA guided tour of the TMT Website
  • Notes from the Web Workshops held in Juneau in August 1996
    • Morning session - Web Introduction
    • Afternoon session - Website Development
  • Links to other general information about the Internet and the Web.

-Comment- This button links to a form through which you can send your comments and suggestions to the website operators.

-Search- This button links to a keyword search form. The search is not comprehensive, but may help you find information on a specific subject.

-What's New- This button links to a page containing information on recent changes and future plans for the TMT website.

-Report Generator- This button links to a user-friendly tool that can be used to compile a number of different pieces of information (graphs, data, text) from different servers into a single HTML document. The user has control over which documents are included, and can therefore create a customized document for printing or browsing. This tool can save a lot of time you might otherwise spend "surfing", since it does the gathering for you. Try it out!

* Graphs of Current Data

This is the heart of the TMT home page. It contains links to several subsidiary pages, each of which contains "data and information" on a specific topic related to hydrosystem operations and biological impacts. "Data" are contained in the sense that links to source databases (primary and/or secondary) are provided. However, we do not maintain a database at the TMT home page site. Our primary focus is on "information" - that is, a synthesis of raw numerical data into a form which is easily accessible and useful. The simplest form of "synthesis" is visual presentation as a graph, in most cases with time as the x-axis. However, other more sophisticated sytheses are presented also, including 1) plotting of multiple data on one graph 2) presentation of information in non-traditional graphical formats 3) real-time data analysis and 4)geographical representations of data. Tools have been developed which allow the automatic updating of information (graphs, etc.) as new data become available. Graphs of biological information (e.g., smolt observations, PIT Tag data, adult counts), and hydrologic information (e.g., current flow and spill rates, dissolved gas observations, reservoir conditions) are available.

* Quick Look at Current Conditions

This page provides an alternative way of accessing the same information presented in the "Data and Information" category above. Instead of the nested outline structure and groupings of similar images as is done above, this page provided direct, single-click, links to individual information graphs.

* Graphs of Historical Data

This page provides links to archive graphs, similar to those presented in "Graphs of Current Data", for 1995 and more recent years.

* Introduction and Background

This page provides:

*TMT Support

The following pages provide information and mechanisms for interaction which are intended to facilitate preparation for TMT meetings and the TMT decision process.

  • TMT Online Discussion This page provides the capability for TMT members to easily and conveniently communicate at times other than the actual weekly meeting. Comments, proposals, and new information can be provided to the TMT group through an interactive forms interface which allows TMT members to post a message to the TMT Web Service from a remote machine. Mechanisms for commenting on previous comments or suggestions are provided, allowing a bulletin-board-like exchange.
  • Links to Meeting Agendas, minutes, and recommendations, maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
  • Links to background information such as the TMT Guidelines, Water Management Plan, and Biological Opinion Requirements.

* Analysis Tools

A list of links to network-accessible analysis tools, including the CRiSP models and the Realtime Forecasters, is maintained here.

* TMT Participants

This page contains a list of the TMT members, with links and email addresses where available.

* Links to Related Internet Resources

This page contains an organized list of links to other related services on the Internet, including organizational servers, information resource lists, and miscellaneous fish-related information.
